Biography
Michael Wei primarily works in painting and fiber art. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University, where he later served as Chief Designer of the Fiber Art Studio in the Department of Arts and Crafts. He has also served as Art Director for several major Chinese art publications.
Wei is currently a member of the Fiber Art Committee of the China Arts and Crafts Association. His practice spans fiber art and painting, exploring material language, spatial structure, and contemporary visual expression — bridging traditional craft and contemporary art through an emphasis on the tactile qualities of materials and the dynamic relationship of form in space.
